Mr. Laird,
I just wanted to express to you how
much the school at Expressways to
Higher Learning has benefited my
life. It has
given me the confidence I lacked to
pursue college.
My reading, comprehension, and
writing have improved to the degree
that I no longer feel incapable of
achieving my academic goals.
Before attending “ETHL” I possessed
a paralyzing fear of school.
After leaving high school,
which I barely survived, my focus
was only on working to be accepted
into the military, and then surviving
after that. As a
lad, I had a speech impediment,
which caused me to go into a shell
of shyness and insecurity.
Thank you for being patient with me
and showing me sincere concern.
You saw something in me deep
beyond the layers of trash I felt I
was; you helped me see a treasure
within. The
wisdom and compassion I experienced
while at ETHL far exceeded my
expectations. I
did not feel like a loner because
there were others, who had different
stories, but also had the same
goals, which were to succeed,
overcome, and grow to be productive.
Thank you
again,
Sylvester

Mr. Charles
Laird
Expressways To

I would like to
take this opportunity to thank you
for all of the assistance you have
provided me in the last eight
months.
Your long dedicated hours
have not gone unnoticed by me and
others.
The training offered at ETL
has given me the ability to be a
better employee at my present job
and to portray myself in a more
knowledgeable and professional
manner.
Expressways has changed my
situation so much and I look forward
to the future benefits as well.
Sincerely,
Vincent E.

Dear Charles,
I just wanted to say thank you for
giving me the opportunity to better myself.
It has only been a few months, but
going to school at Expressways to Learning
has helped me in many different ways.
The new experiences and the new
skills I have gained are and will be a
tremendous transition in my life.
The positive atmosphere upheld at ETL
helped my attitude change.
The guidance I received has made me
organize, prioritize, and gain a much needed
new perspective.
All of these things mentioned above
and even more has aided me in school and in
my personal life.
The staff at ETL took the time to sit
down and show me how to learn, which
automatically improved my reading and
spelling, in addition to my self esteem.
Thank you again for all
you have done for me.
